FROM OUR DIRECTOR
As the School Director of Kampala International School Uganda (KISU), I am deeply committed to
our mission: 'Educating Today's Children for Tomorrow's World'. This mission is the cornerstone of our
approach to education, where we strive to provide the highest quality teaching and learning
experiences. Our approach embraces inquiry, learner agency, and innovation, ensuring that every
student is prepared for the complexities of tomorrow's world. We are a forward-thinking institution, as
evidenced by our early adoption of artificial intelligence in our curriculum. This not only
demonstrates our commitment to staying at the forefront of social and technological innovation
but also prepares our community to lead in these areas.
At KISU, we adapt the English National Curriculum to suit our unique context, enriching our students'
learning experiences and ensuring they receive a globally recognised education. We proudly offer
the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the International
Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma qualifications. These are the gold standards in international education
and open doors to prestigious universities in the UK, USA, Canada, and the EU.
Our commitment to being research-informed and data-led allows us to continuously refine our
educational approaches, ensuring they are the most effective and beneficial for our students. The
inclusion of creativity, activity, and service (CAS) within our academic programmes underscores our
belief in the importance of well-rounded education, preparing students not just academically but
also as compassionate and active members of society.
KISU's distinctive educational approaches, such as our emphasis on learner agency and our
innovative use of technology, set us apart. We are dedicated to not only pursuing our mission and
vision but also ensuring that our students are well-equipped to make significant contributions to the
world. Our academic programmes and our commitment to excellence in all areas underscore this
dedication, making KISU a beacon of international education in Uganda.
Mr. Lee Wilson, School Director
