HAPPY HAPPY 2024
Welcome to a new issue and a new year!
I started this year off with big goals and big plans in mind and I am going to
try to achieve as many of them as I can. One of my big plans is to visit as
many safari lodges as I can -- at least the ones I haven’t been fortunate to
visit in Uganda... and I plan to start with the ones mentioned in this issue of the
magazine.
Check out the featured reviews on Chimpundu Lodge, Emburara Farm Lodge and Honey Bear Bush
Camp. If it’s adventure you are after this year, then read all about the adventure activities you can do
in our Adventure Tourism Uganda feature from hiking to cycling, to canoeing and biking to climbing
the Rwenzori’s. Whatever you choose to do this year, Uganda has it all!

I visited the Rwenzoris in 2017 and that trip changed the course of my

life. Within 2 years I moved to Uganda with my family, as I was very
impressed with all the things adventure you can do here. Since then I
have travelled to most (mountainous) corners of the country, either
professionally as a hiking guide, travel writer and trainer, or climbing
mountains and mountain biking purely for pleasure. There’s still a lot to
explore so I’ll stick around for a while! Jan Bakker
