Hotel. Ernest Hemingway recovered from his two
infamous plane crashes in room 8 - a stone's throw
from our bar named in his honour. The cast and
crew of ‘The African Queen’ found respite at
Masindi Hotel while filming the Oscar-winning
movie. In room 3 was Katherine Hepburn and
Humphrey Bogart was in room 5.

for Best Actor for his role in this movie.
This is his only Academy Award.
