Uganda’s tropical climate means certain health risks exist, but simple precautions can help you stay safe and well.
Uganda is home to a tropical climate where diseases such as malaria, typhoid and other mosquito- and water-borne illnesses can occur. From time to time, the Ministry of Health may also issue public health alerts, including for diseases such as Ebola. Taking simple precautions can significantly reduce your risk of illness.
Uganda has well-established public health systems to respond to disease outbreaks. If the Ministry of Health issues guidance during an outbreak, such as Ebola, follow the official advice, practise good hand hygiene, avoid contact with anyone who is unwell, and seek medical attention if you develop symptoms
