Together, we have increased the land purchased for the Batwa from 6 acres to 21 acres, to provide a long-term stable home for the Batwa and to ensure there is a future opportunity for the community to grow.

The community centre has been equipped to provide a dedicated place for children to study, for visiting health workers and counsellors and for community meetings. Expanding Vocational Training Opportunities Plans are now being finalised to build a new vocational training centre to provide valuable skills training in carpentry, tailoring, hair dressing – an essential pathway toward employment and greater self-sufficiency. With the support of the Rwenzori Foundation, the Batwa are getting training to improve their centuries old pottery-making skills to make high quality sculpture.
